Song of India, The
The Song of India beckons diners to a gastronomic showcase of India’s rich culinary heritage and cuisine. The menu is impressive and extensive, offering fine cuisines of both North and South India. Executive chef Manjunath Mural’s Journey Through India set menu (also available as a vegetarian option), is a medley of several à la carte dishes, such as prawn curry from the Malabar coast, and Hyderabadi bhuna lamb gosht and dumpukht chicken in potli masala from Lucknow. Each is marinated in its own distinct flavour and the platter comes together beautifully, like a symphony. Served alongside fragrant saffron basmati rice, the tandoori bread basket takes on a modern spin with saffron sesame, truffle mushroom and garlic butter naan. Sweet endings are a must in the world of Indian cuisine and none are as irresistible as the refreshing Alphonso mango kulfi, one of many sublime desserts on the menu.
The fully stocked cellar boasts globally sourced wine, champagne and port labels. Wine lovers can select house pours by the glass and connoisseurs will be delighted to find sweet dessert wines such as the prized 1996 Château d’yquem Sauternes in stock. Better yet, order the Jugal Bandi wine-pairing menu for some serious pampering by the chef.
