SENSO RISTORANTE & BAR
01-01, 21 Club Street, S(069410) TEL: 6224 3534 Tucked away at the quieter end of Club Street, the unassuming facade of Senso hides a spacious interior that includes a restaurant, an open courtyard and private rooms. The charming, elegant black-and-white decor makes it the perfect place for a romantic têteà-tête, or even a quiet business lunch with associates. This longstanding restaurant (open since 2000) is known for its Italian classics and innovative seasonal menu. Crowd-pleasers include the fegato d’anatra Rougie—panseared duck liver with port wine cherry coulis, salted meringue, dry apricot and pistachio crumble—which is moreish with just the right amount of delicious fat and acidity. The taglierini neri o bianchi—pasta with Boston lobster, fresh tomatoes, chilli flakes and basil— is tangy and refreshing, and the homemade noodles is served perfectly al dente. These are complemented by an impressive collection of wines sourced from the old and new world. The restaurant is manned by friendly staff members, who always check up on diners if the meal is going well, but ensure that they also allow them their privacy.
