Over­look­ing Ma­rina Bay, Kinki is fre­quented by the af­ter-work crowd in Shen­ton Way for its in­spired cock­tails and mod­ern Ja­panese cui­sine. Some tra­di­tion­al­ists per­ceive this hip Shin­juku-in­spired bar-restau­rant as the “bad boy” on the block, but it’s ad­mired by many for its ex­per­i­men­tal fare. Peren­nial favourites in­clude the tai carpac­cio and the un­agi with Hokkaido scal­lop sushi, which are highly rec­om­mended for their fresh, zingy tang. Other ex­cit­ing op­tions in­clude the pome­gran­ate miso cod and the foie gras with scal­lop sushi. Cock­tails are a spe­cial­ity here, with a de­cent se­lec­tion of sake and shochu aug­ment­ing the bev­er­age list. Ser­vice is warm and gen­uine, though on a packed night it will re­quire a tad of pa­tience.

Start off the evening with drinks at the rooftop bar be­fore head­ing down for din­ner and late-night rev­elry at Kinki’s tat­too-cul­ture-in­spired decor and hip beats.
