Xin’s home-style roast duck with tea leaves is delightful­ly tender and aromatic, with the scent of chrysanthe­mum, jasmine and oolong tea permeating the crispy-skin poultry. The well-composed menu of modern Cantonese dishes includes the chef’s recommenda­tion of stir-fried wagyu beef cubes with black pepper, paired with sweet longan, crisp asparagus, and red and yellow capsicum in a colourful presentati­on. For a bowl of nostalgic comfort food, the poached rice with seafood in a rich, delicate superior broth is also recommende­d, topped with sprinkles of golden crispy rice. Sweet mango coulis with hashima, served in a fluted melon and paired with a warm red bean pancake, leaves a lasting impression. The compact wine list is adequate and service staff do their best in this busy restaurant.
