Bistro du Vin is a go-to destinatio­n for authentic brasserie-style French food. What awaits you is traditiona­l French fare, executed to high standards. The onion soup is blanketed with slightly charred Gruyère cheese, which gives it a good depth of flavour. Also a standout is the classic duck confit, in which the crispy skin contrasts beautifull­y with the duck meat. The dessert mainstays include the authentic renditions of chocolate fondant, Grand Marnier soufflé and crème brûlée. Mature French farm cheeses are amazing as well; these come on a platter served with bread or cheese crackers. The wine list offers a French-biased grape selection and is suitably well-priced.
