THANYING RESTAURANT

-

Amara Singapore, Level 2,

165 Tanjong Pagar Road, S(088539) TEL: 6222 4688 Since 1988, Thanying Restaurant at Amara Hotel has been a trusted name when it comes to exquisite Thai cuisine. Such is the refreshing starter of pomelo salad with chicken and prawn, garnished with bits of roasted coconut, chilli paste and lime sauce. A hallmark of this cuisine is the tom yum goong—and Thanying does it really well. Served as an individual portion, the delicious broth has beautiful flavours and is well balanced. With just the right amount of spiciness to the soup, it doesn’t overshadow the sweetness of the generous serving of freshly peeled prawns and mushrooms. Another restaurant speciality, the claypot prawn with pork belly and vermicelli is a musttry. Fresh garlic prawns and slices of pork belly are cooked in the claypot to retain all the robust flavours. Another Thai classic dish of fried egg with minced pork is packed with a mouthful of deliciousness; the egg is fluffy and crisp, and savoury minced pork is added to complete the dish. Service staff are courteous and enthusiastic with their recommendations.
