Almost three years into its run, this dinner-only venue is still packing people in with its fusion-japanese fare, such as the black pepper softshell crab bao, Tokyo hummus, and paella-like unagi rice served in a hot pan. To reinforce the communal dining theme, all dishes are available in small or large sizes. The open kitchen and cocktail bar counter on the side of the dining room provide a source of visual entertainment when you’re not downing the delectable Japanese-inspired cocktails, shaken with a great deal of vigour by the two resident bartenders. While the food may provoke a discourse on authenticity of Japanese flavours, the small but well-curated list of sakes is absolutely spot on.
