Located within Ion in Orchard, the Cantonese cuisine here stands out— sample the selection of roast meats to appreciate the chef’s skill on the grill and accompany this with a choice of traditional Cantonese soup. Other cooked dishes, including local favourites such as sweetand-sour pork and poached seasonal vegetables, highlight the ability of the kitchen with the quintessential wok. Conclude the meal with classic desserts; the mango pudding and walnut cream is a routine inclusion at most of the outlets. Service is rather prompt and smiles from staff greet the diners all round. There are wines by the glass available, as well as canned beers—but we’d recommend the Chinese yellow wine.
