The buffet restaurant at the JW Marriott is known for its generous seafood spread. Housed in the specially built, temperatur­e-controlled seafood room is a bounty of immaculate Maine lobsters, crabs, prawns, Spanish mussels and oysters, alongside light bites such as seafood salads and seared tuna tataki. Check out the cooked items, too, prepared à la minute by the friendly chefs to ensure the best flavours. The seared foie gras is impossibly tender, the heaviness offset by the brighter notes of the fig sauce and brioche. Meanwhile, the signature laksa is as hearty as it gets, with its assortment of ingredient­s such as noodles, vegetables and quail eggs. A popular indulgence is the catch of the day, where the fresh fish is cooked to your preference. End with cheese or cured meats; the stations are manned by friendly chefs and the succinct wine list provides adequate choices for non-fussy wine drinkers.
