Creatures occupies a quaint shophouse painted in black and emblazoned in gold. Inside, the modern Asian restaurant is dimly lit and decorated with an abundance of plants to evoke a sense of intimacy and cosiness. While the menu is peppered with the names of familiar local delicacies and Asian delights, you’re in for a pleasant surprise when the food arrives. Named for the phrase “creatures of habit”, Creatures’ ethos is exactly that: embracing heritage flavours while adding a contemporary twist that jaded palates will definitely welcome. The miso cod and ulam onigiri—a fusion of Japanese and Southeast Asian flavours—is especially enjoyable, with the belachan assam herb rice balls complementing a generous, fresh serving of oven-roasted miso cod.
