Tatler Dining Singapore

Creatures

-

Creatures occupies a quaint shophouse painted in black and emblazoned in gold. Inside, the modern Asian restaurant is dimly lit and decorated with an abundance of plants to evoke a sense of intimacy and cosiness. While the menu is peppered with the names of familiar local delicacies and Asian delights, you’re in for a pleasant surprise when the food arrives. Named for the phrase “creatures of habit”, Creatures’ ethos is exactly that: embracing heritage flavours while adding a contemporary twist that jaded palates will definitely welcome. The miso cod and ulam onigiri—a fusion of Japanese and Southeast Asian flavours—is especially enjoyable, with the belachan assam herb rice balls complementing a generous, fresh serving of oven-roasted miso cod. If you’re looking for sweet endings with a Singaporean twist, look no further than the durian cake or the chocolate cake, served with a scoop of aromatic coconut ice cream.

TATLER TIP

For a romantic date, opt for the outdoor seating on the second level. The balcony is separated from the bustle of the restaurant, and the fairy lights and lanterns make for the perfect ambience.
