CRYSTAL JADE LA MIAN XIAO LONG BAO/JIANGNAN

-

Focusing on Jiangnan cuisine, this branch of Crystal Jade also serves up a good selection of la mian (pulled noodles) and a number of Sichuan favourites. The assorted flavours of xiao long bao (original, chilli crab, mushroom and salted egg yolk) are no doubt the draw here. Although not as soupy as others we’ve had, the thin, delicately pleated skin held the tasty soup in without any spillage. Despite its pallid appearance, the toothsome noodles with scallion oil is a flavour bomb—this is a definite must-order. For those who like it fiery hot, the poached fish in Sichuan spicy soup is spicy at a default (medium) level.
