This elegant Cantonese restaurant is popular for its renditions of traditiona­l fare and dishes from China and beyond. Highlights include the deep-fried stuffed crab, breaded and generously filled with crabmeat and cheese (and served on a gold platter that resembles a crustacean), and the barbecued pork belly with glaze. The latter comprises nicely charred pork belly with a good balance of meat and fat, and calamansi to squeeze on top for a touch of acid. The pan-fried chicken fillet served in a clay pot deserves mention, too; it’s served with fermented rice and pickled ginger that accentuate­s the dish beautifull­y, while finely cut chive adds to the ensemble. A sound selection of wines by the glass includes a rich, full tempranill­o from Rioja and a palate-pleasing riesling from New Zealand. Expect cordial staff that manoeuvre with effortless efficiency.
