Ken Ling, Tunglok Heen features a seafood-heavy menu alongside Cantonese, Hunanese and modern Chinese dishes. Highlights include the umami-rich fried rice with freshly peeled crabmeat, and the steamed chicken with morel and mixed mushrooms in lotus leaf, which lends a distinctive fragrance to the bird. The braised white pepper crab (which is in fact wok-fried, then baked in paper) releases a wonderful aroma when unwrapped at the table. The panfried marinated rack of lamb in Asian spices and chilli mint chutney is unusual for a Chinese restaurant, but nonetheless wellexecuted—succulent, mediumrare and not overly spiced. A cursory wine list is supplemented by some craft beers. The interiors look modern, with some tables dressed in fancy table linens, while some lacquered wooden tables have a much more casual setting.
