Southern Italy seems like a stone’s throw away from Orchard thanks to this restaurant, which showcases the region’s authentic flavours. Helming the kitchen is chef Daniele Devillanova from Puglia, known for his straightforward traditional cooking using quality ingredients. Such is the carpaccio di polipo, using Mediterranean octopus with the right balance of mineral and salinity. Linguine allo scoglio is another must-try, as the pasta is tossed generously with prawns, mussels, scallops, clams and cherry tomatoes. Other regions are represented, too, so you’ll find the vitello tonnato on the menu, in which poached veal is slathered with a tasty and creamy tuna sauce from Piemonte in northern Italy. Dishes are made for sharing, so it’s best to come in big groups. Wines by the glass are poured generously, which is a trademark of the warm Italian hospitality.
