TATLER SAYS
This grand dame is nearly 60 but shows no signs of ageing—it boasts genuinely warm service, and remains one of the best places in town for a memorable steak dinner. Stellar cuts from its prime steak wagon include the impossibly tender Australian grain-fed Sher Wagyu ribeye and indulgent Japanese olive-fed Wagyu ribeye and tenderloin. The rest of the menu are no second fiddles either. There's a hearty lobster bisque and Duo of
Beef, which comprises a grilled black Angus fillet and braised Wagyu beef cheek. Equally satisfying is the appetising chilled seaweed pasta with king crab, sakura ebi, caviar and white truffle vinaigrette. The desserts are worth the calories, particularly the crepe suzette flambéed tableside with Cointreau and brandy, and a lingonberry crumble tart with vanilla ice cream.
