Tatler Dining Singapore

Kinki Restaurant

-

The restaurant’s contemporary design—characterised by neon lights and portraits of geishas on the wall—sets the stage for a memorable dining experience of Japanese classics with a modern twist. Signatures are always must-tries, among which are AC/DC Dynamite, consisting of tempura-fried seafood roll topped with Japanese cucumber, raw seafood and avocado for an explosion of flavours, and kurobuta pork belly. The pork belly is marinated in mirin, sake and plum sauce and deep-fried to golden brown perfection. It’s best dipped in a zingy plum sauce that cuts through the fattiness. Kinki also offers some of the best cuts of meat, which can be found in the likes of the High Roller Wagyu Don. It’s an extremely rich donburi crowned with strips of Ohmi A4 Wagyu, seared foie gras and onsen egg that you break open to enrich the whole dish. The cocktails here are more enticing than the wines, but if you prefer the latter, there’s a limited selection to choose from.
