Set on the picturesqu­e Duxton Hill, L’entrecôte has all the elements in place to transport one to a Parisian steak frites bistro—the wood-panelled banquette seats, the de rigueur old wall lamps and Tolix chairs. For the past decade, it has firmly establishe­d itself as the go-to Gallic steakhouse in Singapore, with a menu that’s as authentic as it gets. The popular steak frites has three different cuts to choose from, ranging from Wagyu tenderloin MB 8-9 to a Porterhous­e for sharing. It’s cooked to the guest’s desired doneness and is served with the restaurant’s legendary secret sauce poured over the meat to enhance its beefy flavours. The service here is warm and cordial, and the wine list is dominated by French labels. A decent selection of house pours is available by the glass, carafe and bottles at very reasonable prices—another mark of a quality bistro.
