It may not be easy to get seats at this small sushi restaurant, but it’s well worth the wait. The restaurant setting is pleasant; the foyer is adorned with distinctive pink wallpaper embellished with beautiful white cranes by Gucci. Then, you’ll be led into the main dining room where head chef Masaaki Sakashita and his team graciously welcome you. There are two omakase menus for lunch and dinner respectively. The seasonal starter feature shiro ebi (baby white prawn) with ikura and dashi jelly. Sushi dishes are all immaculately crafted with slivers of fish or seafood draped over perfectly cooked rice. The chef uses three types of vinegar to balance the taste of the rice. Hand-rolls may feature ingredients like grilled unagi, or monkfish liver and pickled watermelon served in between crisp nori. Finally, tuck into a seasonal rice bowl crowned with three types of seasonal uni and belly warming miso soup. Guests will be ushered to another room to enjoy tea and dessert including fruits and homemade warabi mochi.
