The Perfect Cut

New York favourite Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is beloved for its superb Prime black Angus steaks, dry-aged in-house to boost their flavours and textures

When it comes to American steakhouses, no other establishment in Singapore can offer as quintessential an experience as the famed Wolfgang’s Steakhouse at Robertson Quay.

From its warm mahogany interiors to its extensive wine list, the Singapore outpost of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse—widely regarded as one of New York City’s best—is steeped in a distinctive old world charm that is both grand yet unpretentious at the same time.

The pièce de résistance, of course, is its range of top cuts, so good in fact that the pure black Angus is of the highest USDA “Prime” rating, a rare label held by only a small percentage of beef distributed in the United States. The brand’s proprietary dryageing process involves 28 days of ripening at the restaurant’s very own private ageing cellar, resulting in improved tenderness and more flavourful meats. These are then grilled at 900 degrees Celcius to create the restaurant’s signature smoky slabs of juicy steak encased in a perfectly crispy and fragrant exterior.

In true New York fashion, the Grand Menu is populated by a long list of immaculately curated steaks, chops, seafood, soups and salads and sides. Dive headfirst into carnivorous delights such as the porterhouse for two (or three, or even four), the New York sirloin, or the luxurious ribeye dry-aged for 60 days.

Explore also the splendid crustacean offerings, with the seafood platter that comes generously decked in jumbo shrimps, crab meat and a half-pound of lobster, as well as the decadent lobster mac n’ cheese side dish with three types of cheeses. For a lighter touch, the homemade lobster bisque comes with tender chunks of lobster flesh, while Wolfgang’s crab cakes are composed of delectable blue swimming crab meat.

And since we’re in Singapore, the celebrated steakhouse also offers a graceful afternoon tea menu, where each and every component–from aged beef crostinis to New York cheesecake—is handmade to order.
