CURIOUS VESSEL

Manila-based designer Gabriel Lichauco’s experiments with glass have resulted in an enigmatic array of decorative objects, created as part of his Pinch the Bublinka collection. Its name alludes to the organic shape of the glass bubble ( bublinka in Czech), which takes on a shape that’s also playfully reminiscent of a child’s pinched cheek. The coloured glass is made using an antique metal mould, while the bubble was made via the traditional blown glass method; both glass pieces were combined using heat, force and precision.
