1 DEREK LO

Lo, the course chair of the School of Design at Temasek Polytechni­c, has been teaching since 2006. He practised as an architect for 18 years and has extensive knowledge in design thinking.

2 MIKE LIM

The director and principal designer of DP Design, Lim believes that design should be purposeful and inclusive. He was the interior designer of The Dubai Mall, the largest retail complex in the world.

3 SABRINA LONG

As the dean of the School of Art and Design at NAFA, Sabrina has spearheade­d initiative­s which include the developmen­t of the double majors learning and practice.

4 CHRISTIAN GILLES BOUCHARENC

The head of the Division of Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore, Boucharenc’s field of research is design fundamenta­ls; he wrote his first book, Design for a Contempora­ry World, in 2008.

5 MARK WEE

The executive director of Designsing­apore Council,

Wee is also an experience designer, architect, artist and educator who advocates design methodolog­ies driven by empathy and experienti­al prototypin­g.

6 TERENCE NGAN AND ED NG

The co-founders ofab Concept have made the

Hong Kong-based firm a well-respected name in the world of luxury design since its inception in 1999, with projects ranging from the finest restaurant­s to seaside resorts.

7 WILLIAM HARRIS

Harris is one of the founding partners of New Yorkheadqu­artered firm Avroko, which was establishe­d in 2001. The firm’s active portfolio includes ongoing projects in 21 countries and 32 cities worldwide.

8 TALENIA PHUA GAJARDO

The CEO and head art hunter founded The Artling in 2013, revolution­ising the way that people collect Asian contempora­ry art and design by taking her business to the online marketplac­e.

9 LEONARD LEE

Lee is the regional creative officer and regional managing director of Wilson Associates. In his 20-year career with the firm, he has designed numerous award-winning projects for internatio­nal brands.
