CREATIVE ROOTS
The origins of the
Cambio exhibition by Amsterdam-based firm Formafantasma stem from a singular tree in the Val di Fiemme valley in Italy, which was toppled by a storm. Parts of this specimen have been turned into furniture, displayed next to evocative mixed-media installations inspired by the rainforest as well as artefacts from the archives of Serpentine Galleries.
Held at the
Serpertine Sackler
Gallery in London, this exhibition is designed by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin of Formafantasma. It seeks to explore the human connection to the wooden objects that we use, while re-evaluating how the timber industry produces and distributes these products, in the hope of paving the way to more sustainable practices in wood-making. serpentinegalleries.org
