TIME TRAVEL

-

Reignite your sense of wanderlust at the

Once Upon a Time on the Orient Express exhibition. Held at the West Lawn of Gardens by the Bay, the event celebrates the magic of locomotive travel by charting the history of the Orient Express, a luxury train service founded in 1883. Over 300 artefacts and two of the original train carriages have been transported from France to Singapore, featuring sumptuous interiors decorated by French designer René Prou.

Much attention was paid to every detail in these carriages—admire the graceful art deco-style lamps by René Lalique, the exquisite marquetry work on the cabinetry and the history-rich leather trunks from

Louis Vuitton. Visitors can also dine in a replica model of the train at the pop-up restaurant helmed by acclaimed French chef Yannick Alléno. From now to 13 June at Gardens by the Bay; orientexpressexhibition.com
