Our home should be a personal retreat and a place where we can recharge; where we can be ourselves and feel totally at ease.

At Design Intervention, we employ the transformative power of design to improve moods, inf luence behaviour and improve health. Our mission as designers is to tailor each project to the needs and dreams of each homeowner, helping them harness the power of their home for happier and healthier lives.

HOLISTIC HAVENS

Our firm’s approach is personalised, scientific and multisensory. We go beyond aesthetics to craft joyful, sensual, liveable homes that inspire the mind, soothe the body and nourish the soul. We believe that design, like nutrition and fitness, is an essential tool for better living. The average city dweller spends most of their lives indoors; so the design of our interiors is integral to our health, happiness and general wellbeing.

We start every project by considering vital human needs: the importance of our happiness, comfort and mood right from the outset. We think about behaviour and how each owner will use their different rooms. We strive to create the ambience as well as the functionality that will make the best use of the spaces, both physically and emotionally.

LUSH RETREATS

Interior design has always been classified as a visual art. But now we are realising that home design is as much science as it is art. We do this by stimulating the senses—targeted changes in light, space, geometry, scents, colour, texture and sound can affect how we feel.

Incorporating direct or indirect elements of nature into the built environment has been proven to reduce stress, blood pressure levels and heart rates, while increasing our productivity and creativity. Strengthening our connection with nature is more than just bringing elements of the outdoors in; it should convey a soothing and visceral effect through the use of natural light and views of nature, while surrounding ourselves with a mix of natural materials, textures and patterns.
