Mr Shopper Studio imparts luxurious touches to a stylish apartment designed to embrace a festive mood all year round

A new home functions as a safe haven, especially for newcomers to the city. And in the realm of interior design, the easiest way to make such a space feel cosy is to fit it out with the things that remind its occupants of their hometown.

Such was the case for the expatriate owners of this threebedro­om turnkey apartment located in Tanjong Rhu. Despite the new 1,280 sq ft unit being ready to move into, they felt that it was still missing some key elements. As such, they tasked Ken Lee and Kate Deng, co-founders of Mr Shopper Studio with the renovation, with the overarchin­g brief of using “neutral shades that should not look plain”.

With this design directive in mind, the team focused primarily on the material finishes and textures. The result is a selection of cool tones that is applied to various fixtures and fittings throughout the three-bedroom home. The designers also layered textures to help bring out the depth and feel of each space. These include key pieces such as a tufted sofa, a feathered standing lamp and fuzzy throws.

As the owners relished having a festive spirit and all the glamorous ornaments related to a wintry Christmas holiday in their abode, the designers included characteri­stics of the special occasion by fitting the interior with plenty of pearly finishes, along with
