Family vacations
are about spending intimate time with our children, with minimal distraction from work and at someplace nice and away from home. While we have the luxury of hiring help, we much prefer to travel without them because it will be a great opportunity for us to strengthen our relationship with the kids and our bond as a family. The kids will also learn to be more independent and rely on themselves. When we’re overseas, our help at home also gets to take a break from their daily routines. But if it’s a long vacation stretching longer than three weeks, we would usually travel with our domestic helpers, but not other household staff like drivers that we are able to hire easily at our destination. Trips with family can get a little chaotic and stressful without our household staff around, but what we get in return are precious moments with just the family that we will cherish for a long time.
