If you are
one of those exceptionally well-off individuals able to afford to fly your team of household help overseas with you, hallelujah! Even in daily life, not everyone can afford to hire a helping hand to ease their daily needs or whims and fancies. Having help is a luxury, which by definition is something desirable for comfort or enjoyment, but not indispensable. Employing a housekeeper, driver, personal chef or make-up artist is a luxury. We can live without them, but oh how lovely to enjoy their services. Who can honestly say they wouldn’t welcome such a luxury— whether at home or on holiday? To anyone who fears that having them on a family vacation might diminish any private, intimate time you want to spend with your family, I say, just remember that they work for you, so you can decide how, when and where they should be at your service.
