Here, among trunks that would have held extensive wardrobe changes for fancy seafarers’ activities through the day, we see the first Steamer Bag created in 1901 that belonged to Gaston-louis Vuitton. This canvas bag would be retrieved from a trunk, unfolded and hung up by its handle to serve as a laundry bag for used clothes. In case you missed the resemblance, the contemporary versions are also getting a tan on the deck.
