Tatler Singapore

PERSONAL BEST

-

Two days in the company of the Singapore Tatler Fashion Awards 2018 recipients, and we find out the true meaning of personal style

hat does it take to be named a Singapore Tatler Fashion Award winner? It is not just the ability to keep up with the current runway trends or the status of being a VVIP client of a luxury fashion house. It is the combination of amazing personal style, grace, character and, most importantly, presence. And we can safely vouch that all four of our 2018 recipients Carmen Ow, Fanty Soenardy, Yenny Then and Jeffrey Piak perfectly embody these traits. For the cover of our biannual fashion-themed issue, Singapore Tatler got each one of them to wear specially customised slogan T-shirts, paired with denims by Prada. Most Stylish Woman Yenny, who flew in from Perth, Australia, just for the shoot, was first in line. As she expertly posed in top-to-toe Louis Vuitton, her anime-like features and hair brought a striking comparison to the luxury label’s Series 4 campaign with the video game Final Fantasy. Style Disrupter Fanty truly lived up to her title, showing up in leather and lace with a motorcycle jacket and a pair of boots that were definitely made for walking, and then some. Classic Dresser Carmen worked the camera in a blazer-and-jeans combo, strutting her stuff to the beat of Beyoncé’s Baby Boy. Most Stylish Man Jeffrey Piak brought up the rear as he smouldered in a Prada shirt and boiler suit, oozing confidence as he carried off and, absolutely owned, this tricky look.
