As the mercury rises, it’s time to show some skin
Revealing midriffs risk triggering unwanted flashblacks of high school cheerleaders or 1990s chick flicks, but designers are offering a way to display skin kin in a more mature manner this spring. Enter ter the creative cutout, a cropped corner on one side of the waist to accentuate your curves. From Proenza Schouler came a bevy of patchwork flower dresses, cheekily ily revealing skin in strategic places and baring ing more on one side. Jason Wu’s runway featured a similiar cutout on Grecian draped aped dresses, while at Alexander Mcqueen, Sarah Burton used the technique on her many ruffled lace gowns. Whatever the variety, the pretty trend might just provide ide that extra incentive to work on those abs s before the sizzling summer months.
