The new additions to Sulwhasoo’s Snowise line harness the brightening powers of white ginseng to revitalise dull skin. Nicolette Wong reports
s we age, our skin tends to dull, losing its resilience and the bouncy plumpness of youth. This, according to Sulwhasoo, is “skin shadowing”, the result of dehydration, an excessive production of melanin and the loss of skin elasticity. The key to restoring the skin to its bright and dewy self lies in the brand’s Snowise line, which delivers an effect it terms “volume brightening”—where fine lines are plumped up and the overall complexion becomes brighter and more radiant. The main ingredient powering Sulwhasoo’s Snowise line is the white ginseng saponin, which it touts as the world’s first whitening ingredient derived from ginseng. Enriched white ginseng polysaccharides also help to hydrate the skin and reinforce its collagen structure from within to make sure that it stays bouncy and resilient. Plus, the brand has also added white cloud grass to the formulation, which helps to reduce any inflammation that may lead to redness and dullness in the skin. The star product is the Snowise Brightening Serum, which contains the most potent mix of the aforementioned ingredients, and includes antioxidant mulberry root extract to ensure that the serum’s brightening effect has greater longevity. This year, Sulwhasoo is further expanding the Snowise family to include a Brightening Cleansing Foam, and a Brightening Exfoliating Mask. The Snowise Brightening Cleansing Foam contains white clay to absorb excess sebum from the skin, and has a feathery-light texture that foams generously with minimal rubbing. And because the product uses cleansing agents that have the same amino acid components as the skin, it helps to minimise the dry tightness often associated with cleansing foams. The Brightening Exfoliating Mask, on the other hand, uses finely ground white ginseng to gently exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells, while ginseng extracts and honey nourish and soothe the skin. With the addition of the Brightening Cleansing Foam and Brightening Exfoliating Mask, the Snowise family now comprises 10 different products, which harness the powers of white ginseng to deliver radiant, youthful skin. Excess melanin is banished, and vitality is restored.
