SICC MAY DAY CHARITY 2018

-

Every year on May 1, the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) holds its May Day Charity event in aid of organisations supporting the underprivileged. Since 1972, it has raised and disbursed more than $22m to 100 charities. This year, as per tradition, the annual event kicked off with a golf session in the morning with nearly 700 participants, and culminated in a gala dinner, which was graced by president Halimah Yacob. Young performers from Ain Society’s Clubskidz Kolintang group wowed guests with a lively musical performance, before SICC member and self-taught singer Vanessa Yeo, accompanied by her talented son Jonathan on the piano, serenaded guests with her crisp vocals. Musician extraordinaire Dick Lee also gave a spirited performance of his classics, Fried Rice Paradise and Home, energising guests for the most important segment of the evening—the charity auction.
