PLAN A VISIT
The next time you are in Bali, experience the Green Village for yourself with these tours and workshops
GREEN VILLAGE TOUR
Fancy seeing the Green Village for yourself but can’t rent one of the houses through Airbnb? You can still book a personal tour of the community. These tours take visitors inside some of the houses, though which one you visit will depend on whether they are rented out at the time.
BAMBOO FACTORY TOUR
Ibuku’s Bamboo Factory is where designers, craftsmen and builders use a combination of ancient and modern techniques to make bamboo fit for use in the studio’s gravity-defying structures. Book a visit to see for yourself how artisans treat, cut and craft bamboo into furniture and, eventually, houses.
JOHN HARDY JEWELLERY FACTORY
A short drive from the Green Village is John Hardy’s jewellery factory, which you can visit by appointment to see the open-air design centre and watch jewellers craft earrings, necklaces and more from concept to completion.
KUL KUL FARM
A much-loved part of the Green Village compound is Kul Kul Farm, a permaculture farm run by Elora Hardy’s brother, Orin, which can be visited by appointment. The farm produces an assortment of healthy organic food and runs a variety of workshops on topics ranging from eco-friendly farming to making herbal medicines and essential oils.
CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
For anyone looking to get hands-on, Ibuku also runs a series of practical classes, including a three-day bamboo construction workshop during which you get to design a bamboo architectural model and then build it at real scale.
