The duo behind New York-based skincare brand Malin + Goetz share their grooming recommendations, health tips and some of their favourite things
What is a grooming discovery you are excited about?
We’ve been on a kick with exfoliation lately. Everything that we do is focused on how to make things effective even for the most sensitive skin. Certain kinds of chemicals for exfoliation are very effective at dislodging dirt and oil, decongesting the skin and balancing it.
What product would you recommend everyone to try?
Our newest product, the third mask in our range, is meant for pretty much every skin type. It’s a light topical exfoliation product made of pineapple, papaya, orange, cranberry, pomegranate, lemon and pumpkin. It’s a chutney for your face—quite hydrating and soothing. You can feel that it’s cooling on the skin. It’s meant to be an experiential product on every single level. Natural enzymes brighten, exfoliate and unclog pores.
What are your top tips for staying healthy?
Go to the gym. Eat well. Don’t smoke. Stay out of the sun. Wash your face every day, twice a day, with a gentle cleanser. Your skin is your largest organ, so what you put on it is really important, just like what you put in you. It’s a lifestyle choice. If you have a healthy lifestyle overall, it’s very beneficial.
Who is Mr Greenberg?
He’s our Chinese pug. One of the guys who works at our Chelsea store takes care of him when we travel. He goes to the store every day, so it’s really fun for him. He’s so happy there.
