UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN

Salvatore Ferragamo introduces a luxurious line of eaux de parfum inspired by its heritage and the beautiful region of Tuscany, where it all started

The relationship between luxury fashion giant Salvatore Ferragamo and the Italian region of Tuscany is inextricable. After all, Florence, the capital of Tuscany, is where Salvatore (pictured above right) started the Ferragamo empire in 1927. So it is only natural that when the marque creates a series of high-end, gender-neutral parfum, the popular tourist destination takes centre stage in its concept. In fact, Tuscan Creations, as the collection is called, is made up of 11 eaux de parfum named after elements closely associated with the Italian region. For instance, Punta Ala is named after a seaside resort of the same name known for its regattas and charming beaches, while Terra Rossa takes its label from the red clay soil found in the medieval city of Siena. The fragrances are all housed in the same flacon design but filled with juices of different colours. Each bottle cap is covered in genuine leather with a double ton sur ton stitching to reflect Ferragamo’s links with leathercraft, and topped with its iconic Gancini logo. Perfume lovers may, however, find some scents familiar as they come from two older lines, Tuscan Soul and Tuscan Scent, but reformulated as eau de parfum. The only new scent is Rinascimento, an elegant floral inspired by the lily, which is an ancient symbol of Florence. Take a whiff to understand the brand and its Tuscan roots.
