Believing snakes possess protective properties, Boucheron’s founder, Frédéric Boucheron, gifted his wife a serpent-shaped necklace for their wedding anniversary in 1888. The maison, with creative director Claire Choisne at the helm, has since reimagined the brand’s famous motif, which is the centrepiece of its Serpent Bohème collection.
