The Tatler Bar offers up the finest spirits, sakes and champagnes

Pandemic or not, the rise in popularity of premium spirits is showing no signs of slowing down. And Tatler Asia (Singapore), the publisher of Tatler Singapore,

quickly seized the opportunity to reposition its acquired online luxury marketplace Luxglove and move it onto a better integrated platform.

Rebranded as The Tatler Bar (Thetatlerbar.com), the e-commerce website was launched in November as the latest go-to destination for discerning imbibers. A focus on prized whiskies remains, though the curated collections have been expanded to include premium champagnes and sakes, as well as bar accessories.

The platform makes for a robust addition to Tatler’s

existing food and wine universe, Tatler Dining, which also publishes the annual Best Restaurants Guide.

“Our audience is known to have exquisite taste in food and drinks. So we aim to offer them an extensive collection of exclusive bottles as well as intel on how to enjoy them on Thetatlerbar.com,” says

Don Mendoza, content director of Tatler Dining.

There are currently over 200 labels on offer, with more to come especially during the festive period. Arguably the most covetable of them all is the Karuizawa 31 Year Old Sapphire Geisha series, a single cask bottling from the famed distillery in Japan that closed its doors for good nearly two decades ago. It is aged in sherry casks for 31 years and prized the world over for its rich and savoury flavours, the same style of whisky that put Karuizawa on the map.

Other collectable sips include the Nikka 40 Year Old, the oldest whisky bottled by the Nikka distillery in Japan, as well as the Port Ellen 39 Year Old from another renowned closed distillery in Scotland. Fans of The Macallan will be glad to know that the bar also stocks The Masters Decanter Series, created by the brand’s master distillers and bottled in Lalique crystal vessels. And those looking for equally prized spirits from other regions across the globe will certainly appreciate the appeal of the Caroni 18 Year Old Navy Rum and Diplomatico Ambassador Rum.

“We wanted to offer something exquisite to our customers, so we’ve added rare collections to our offerings,” explains The Tatler Bar’s senior account manager Jon Jon Bauyon. Champagnes, he adds, have always been popular in the market, “so we have curated an impressive selection, ranging from the rare and fine Krug Vintage 2004 and Dom Ruinart Rosé 2002, to everyday indulgences such as Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label”.

To enhance the experience, The Tatler Bar also boasts a physical space located at the Tatler House on Bukit Pasoh Road, where customers can sample some of the whiskies and other fine tipples they want to add to their collection. Whisky and spirits connoisseurs can also look forward to exclusive events and regular masterclasses held on the premises, as well as peruse select barware from Japan, England and more.
