NIGHT VISION

-

Considering nightlife establishments have not been allowed to operate since March 26 this year due to Singapore’s fight against Covid-19, many have struggled to stay afloat and keep their staff employed. One of the few operators that has shown its resilience is Zouk Group, which has successfully pivoted its business in response to the pandemic. “The team here is like family, with some having worked with the brand for close to three decades. By strategically pivoting on various fronts, we have been able to garner new revenue streams to keep the majority of our staff through this challenging time for the industry,” says CEO Andrew Li. Zouk first introduced a cloud clubbing initiative in March for revellers to enjoy a community experience of clubbing online. Then in August, it transformed its Capital Lounge space in Clarke Quay into a pop-up restaurant, Capital Kitchen. Most recently, its main dance floor was converted into a spin studio by day and cinema club by night, promising guests an immersive experience with state-ofthe-art lighting and sound equipment. Meanwhile, the compact Phuture dance floor now houses a live streaming studio, in partnership with online shopping platform Lazada.
