There’s no better reason or season to give back, especially for those who wish to make a meaningful difference. Begin your journey into philanthropy with the Onefor10 initiative by Community Chest, which is designed to match individuals with causes close to your heart.
Through the initiative, your generosity and giving spirit can reach about 80 social service agencies that care for the underprivileged or vulnerable in our society. Your contributions will help empower children with special needs and youth-at-risk, care for vulnerable seniors, build stronger and more resilient families among the low-income groups, integrate adults with disabilities into society, and support people with mental health conditions.
When you partner Community Chest, you tap on nearly 40 years of experience from the fundraising and engagement arm of the National Council of Social Service to customise a giving plan for optimal impact—one that is aligned with your personal values and aspirations. This could include volunteering opportunities, creating an endowment fund for more sustained impact, bequeathing a legacy gift, or opportunities to invest in and/or pilot new projects that help solve critical social problems.
“Be an intentional giver,” says Chua Weiling, CEO of One Hill Capital and a supporter of the Onefor10 initiative. “Consider the purpose and what you want to achieve with your giving.” A member of the Chua Foundation, her philanthropic journey was influenced by her grandmother, who shaped her values and taught her that a little can go a long way in creating a lasting impact on others.

Donors can also look forward to amplifying impact through exclusive networking lunches and round‑table discussions with like-minded philanthropists and thought leaders organised by
Community Chest. Additionally, your full donation will go towards your designated social service agencies and their social service users without any processing or service fees from Community Chest. Donors will also be entitled to 250 per cent tax deductions on all donations.
Each of us can make a difference in the lives of others, even if we may not have surpluses to donate, believes Kelly Keak, managing director of MTM Skincare Singapore. The philanthropist and supporter of the Onefor10 initiative says: “I believe that if we can make just one small change, even something as small as being kind to one other person, our children will see, learn and follow suit.”
