Make your Mid-autumn celebrations even more special with the festivities at the annual Moonfest

- By Amelia Yeo

Usually the 15th day of the eight month on the Chinese calendar, the Mid-autumn Festival falls on September 21 this year. To get you in the celebratory spirit, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay’s annual traditional Chinese arts festival, Moonfest – A Mid-autumn Celebration, returns from September 17 to October 3, with a line-up of programmes and workshops, both online and in person.

“Every year, the Moonfest team works closely with Singapore and regional traditional Chinese art practitioners to create interesting content to present at the festival,” shares Moonfest producer Desmond Chew. “Seeing as audiences may still be feeling down this year due to the pandemic, Moonfest presents a selection of digital performances focusing on heroic figures who embody a spirit of courage and bravery.”
