Bulgari’s revamped boutique offers a slice of Rome in Singapore, along with a couple of other delightful surprises
At long last, Bulgari’s flagship boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands has completed its renovations and stands ready to welcome guests once again. To mark the occasion, the brand has unveiled the one-of-a-kind Magnifica Emerald Serpenti Forever bag. At the same time, the store will also be offering a new Made To Order service—a programme that’s reserved only for key Bulgari boutiques around the world.
THE ESSENCE OF ROME
Conceived by renowned American architect and interior designer Peter Marino, the newly renovated boutique aims to encapsulate the very essence of Bulgari. To that end,
Marino sought to express various aspects of Rome, including its history, culture and architecture, while also imbuing the store with Bulgari’s unique aesthetics and heritage.
Rome has long had an outsized influence on Bulgari’s designs in both overt and subtle ways. The revamped boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands epitomises this. One immediately notices, for instance, how the elaborate marble details throughout the store—from its entrance threshold to its flooring—echoes the material’s widespread usage in Rome. In the same vein, the Condotti eight-point star is featured prominently within the boutique.
The motif alludes to Rome’s de facto status as the ancient world’s capital, but also draws a link back to the historic Bulgari Condotti store in Rome, where the symbol was first used by the brand.
Modernity also features prominently in the newly renovated flagship. This is seen in details such as the oval counters in light, galvanised iron and the Gio Ponti chandelier, which speaks to Bulgari’s forward-looking spirit. It is this very
balance between old and new, as well as tradition and innovation, that gives the house of Bulgari its unique identity. And what better way to embody this than with the Singapore flagship boutique itself?
CREATIVITY EMBODIED
There’s more than just the refurbished boutique, of course.
To mark the occasion, the brand has unveiled a singular masterpiece: the Magnifica Emerald Serpenti Forever. This pièce unique translates the concept of a high jewellery creation into a bag, from its initial design to the sourcing and working of its leather. The serpent’s head here harks back to Bulgari’s mastery of transformable jewellery—it serves as the bag’s closure, but can also be worn as a pendant or a brooch.
For those who prefer a more vivid form of self-expression, there’s Bulgari’s new Made To Order service. Clients can realise their creative visions and create a Serpenti Forever bag that’s uniquely theirs. Myriad options are available, with more than 70 for just the choice of leather alone. The customisation extends to the serpent’s head adorning each bag, including its colour, material, and various details’ finishes. A particularly special option is the full pavé diamond treatment for those who desire a little more bling.
The creative process for the Made To Order service begins with the client’s selection of the various options. From there, a hand-drawn, full-colour rendering of the bag will be produced, before it is crafted at Bulgari’s accessories atelier in Florence. Finally, the creation will be delivered in a customisable dust bag and box. To showcase just what’s possible, six unique iterations of various Bulgari bags will be available at Bulgari’s Marina Bay Sands boutique.
With its refreshed boutique, unique creation and new Made To Order service, the house of Bulgari has reaffirmed its status as a paragon of craftsmanship and creativity.
