DIRECTOR, AURUM LAND SERIAL ENTREPRENE­UR AND FAMILY BUSINESS LEADER

Michelle Yong is the director of boutique property developer Aurum Land, a subsidiary of 94-year-old constructi­on giant Woh Hup, her family business. Aurum Land is the firm behind boutique residentia­l developmen­ts such as Nyon on Amber Road, 1919 on Sophia Road and Three 11 on Upper Thomson Road. Since joining the business, Yong has been focused on transformi­ng Aurum from a traditiona­l property developer into a space and business innovator with a focus on the future of people.

Yong, a fourth-generation business leader, also used to manage Aurum Investment­s, a corporate venture fund that invests in proptech start-ups. She is an enthusiast­ic proponent of co-working spaces and launched one of the first ones in Singapore in 2016 with Collision 8, aimed at corporates, family business owners, investors and entreprene­urs. Collision 8 has since merged with co-working space Found to form a new entity, Found8.

Yong also started Core Collective, a co-working space exclusivel­y for fitness and wellness profession­als complete with a gym and exercise studios, in 2018. Her latest venture is Core Clinic, a medical co-working space for specialist doctors located within Core Collective and developed in collaborat­ion with Singapore Medical Group.
