ENTREPRENE­UR, MIXED MARTIAL ARTIST AND SELF-MADE MULTIMILLI­ONAIRE

Thai-japanese entreprene­ur and mixed martial artist Chatri Sityodtong is the founder, chairman and chief executive of One Championsh­ip, a Singapore-based mixed martial arts, muay thai, kick-boxing and grappling promotion that is Asia’s largest. The sports media property has a broadcast reach of over 2.7 billion viewers in more than 150 countries. Sityodtong was also the host of The Apprentice: One Championsh­ip Edition.

Sityodtong grew up in Thailand as a child before making his way to the US to study at Harvard Business School. After earning his MBA, he launched a Silicon Valley start-up called Nextdoor Networks with his friends before moving to New York to work as a hedge fund manager. He left a decade later to pursue his love of muay thai, launching martial arts academy Evolve MMA in Singapore in 2009. Two years later, he establishe­d One Championsh­ip with ESPN Sports senior executive Victor Cui.

Sityodtong has won several accolades, including being named “Asia’s Second Most Powerful Person in Sports” by Fox Sports and one of “Asia’s Top 100 Business Leaders” by Business Insider.

Sityodtong was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 2019, is a certified senior muay thai instructor and holds a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
