Billionaire businessman Tadashi Yanai is the founder of Fast Retailing, although he is better known for launching its subsidiary company, global fashion retailer, Uniqlo. His net worth is estimated to be in excess of $42 billion. This year, the retail magnate donated $88 million to Kyoto University in aid of its vaccine development and Covid-19 research programme.
