CYNTHIA CHUA
CEO AND FOUNDER, SPA ESPRIT GROUP QUEEN OF A BEAUTY AND LIFESTYLE EMPIRE
Cynthia Chua is the founder of Spa Esprit Group, which was established in 1996 and is behind various popular beauty, health and culinary brands in Singapore, including Strip, We Need A Hero, 40 Hands, Tippling Club and Tiong Bahru Bakery.
Chua has also spread her wings overseas, taking her brands to global cities such as London and New York. A prime example is The Beauty Block, a 2,300 sq ft lifestyle concept retail space in Chelsea incorporating a Browhaus store, a Strip (known in London as Ministry of Wax) store and A Wanted Man cafe.
In keeping with her spirit of inventiveness, Chua launched the Blackout Mask under the Two Lips brand, which, incidentally, just opened its first boutique in Singapore. The product, positioned as the world’s first activated charcoal mask that soothes, detoxes, brightens, moisturises and deodorises the vulva, debuted in 2018 and was the first in a new range of upmarket intimate-care products aimed at empowering women.
