MILESTONE MOMENT
Audemars Piguet is celebrating the
50th anniversary of the Royal Oak with various releases, including the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra‑thin RD#3 (above). The model has been fitted with a newly developed calibre conceived just for it, which has allowed it to clock in at just 39 mm across and 8.1 mm high. This is identical to the Royal Oak “Jumbo” from 1972, and the timepiece’s proportions mirror the elegance of its predecessor—undoubtedly one of the goals during its development.
