FLOWER POWER

-

It has been more than a year since Sol Singapore opened, and co‑founder and managing director Jonathan Tan shares that the restaurant and bar hopes to craft a stronger identity. “One of our shareholders is an artist who painted our first two murals … and we decided to express our journey through art,” he says. As part of its recent revamp, it engaged Singaporean street artist Slac Satu to spray its walls with graffiti that transports guests to “a whimsical and forbidden wonderland”. This idea extends to the artful tipples, which are made with Asian ingredients and presented with a whimsical twist. Floral cocktail Pink Robot, for example, is concocted with a combination gin—for a botanical and alcoholic kick—honey, elderflower and egg white, and finished with a sprinkle of dehydrated roses and dragon fruit petals to complement the visuals and enhance the sweet aroma.
