MAINBOARD-LISTED Keppel on Friday (May 17) announced leadership changes in its data centres and networks segment as it strives to grow its asset management business.

Thomas Pang, Keppel’s current data centres and networks chief executive, will be named senior managing director in the CEO’S office, and relinquish his data centres and networks portfolio.

His new role is aimed at driving Keppel’s growth as a global asset manager and operator, leveraging his networks, experience and expertise in Keppel’s fund management and operating platforms.

To replace Pang, Manjot Singh Mann, CEO of Keppel’s telco subsidiary M1, will be appointed Keppel’s CEO of connectivity, which folds in the group’s data centres and networks business. He will remain as M1 CEO, a post he has held since 2018, and continue being Keppel’s chief digital officer.

Both appointments will take effect on Jun 1.

Keppel said the leadership changes are part of efforts to grow its asset management business and streamline its organisational structure.

Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel, said: “Thomas has effectively led our data centres and networks business for the past 10 years. With his rich experience in both asset management and operations, he is well-positioned to drive global partnerships and grow the market for Keppel’s fund management and investment solutions.”

He added that Mann, in his new role, will focus on driving growth and “harnessing greater synergies” across its end-to-end digital infrastructure and connectivity offerings, and bolster Keppel’s value proposition to its customers and partners.

Shares of Keppel finished S$0.03 or 0.5 per cent higher at S$6.77 on Friday, before the announcement.
