Sugar refiner ‘against monopoly’

If Putrajaya continues its push to liberalise the sugar refining sector, it will mean more competition for the two local refiners — MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd and Central Sugars Refinery Sdn Bhd. As a result, it will put pressure on selling prices and may eventually shrink profit margins.
