Jerry meandering

Tom and Jerry is a beloved American animated series that features the shenanigans of Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse. This year Kate Spade New York features the very cheeky Jerry peeping out of his rat home on ready to wear, bags and small leather goods.

Through the lens

Not just bags, shoes and clothes – the red colour of luck and fortune extends to frames and lenses too. The frames by Miu Miu are a blend of contemporary and avant garde designs will add a nice finishing touch to your overall look when you head out to do the obligatory family visits.

Lucky colour

Score points with your potential mother-in-law by toting one of these bright red bags from Versace’s Virtus line. The name is taken from the Roman deity and she represents bravery and strength. The quilted patterns made from leather are all adorned with the house signature Barocco V that is festooned in clear crystal.

THE smEll oF prospErIty

Bespoke French perfumery Maison 21G launches a fragrance collection that is specially concocted for Chinese New Year. The Prosperity Scent Kit features three different scents: Mandarin & Orange; Osmanthus and Green Tea. Available from 3 Jan to 7 Feb only.

Luck of the rat

Montblanc pays homage to the Chinese zodiac sign with the launch of The Rat Limited Edition 512 writing instrument. Engraved on the Ag925 silver cap is a very detailed engraving of the rat. The barrel is covered in the colour of champagne and on it the words ‘lucky cloud’ is engraved and a garnet is set on the cone which is said to be the birthstone of the rat.

Ring in the New Year

Moschino gets into the rat race with a limited-edition capsule collection that is inspired by the Mickey Rat cartoon series. We love this iPhone case design that features the cult image of the rat.

All firED up

Piaget prides itself on its Métiers d’Art skills and this is clearly seen in the carnelian Possession collection that is launched in time for Chinese New Year. Each item in the collection has the semi-precious stone in fiery red to attract positive energy and bring luck to the wearer.
